Executive Summary: CVBuilderKit is built with a local-first architecture with private Apple CloudKit cross-device synchronization. Your career details, resumes, contact info, and photos remain exclusively under your control. We do not collect, monetize, or sell your personal data. There are no third-party accounts, and sync occurs exclusively through your private iCloud account.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy applies to the CVBuilderKit: Resume Maker & ATS application ("CVBuilderKit", "the App", "we", "our", or "us").
We respect your privacy. A resume contains sensitive personal, financial, and employment information. That is why CVBuilderKit is designed to operate locally on your device with seamless synchronization across your personal Apple devices using Apple CloudKit's private database. We never require you to create a proprietary account or upload your career data to third-party database servers.
2. Information We Handle and What We Do Not Collect
- No Personal Information Sold or Harvested: We do not collect, sell, or monetize your name, email address, phone number, address, work history, education, or profile photos.
- No Proprietary Account Credentials: You do not need to register or maintain custom login credentials; the App uses your native Apple ID for iCloud features.
- Technical Diagnostics & Product Telemetry: We integrate Firebase (Crashlytics and Analytics) and Amplitude solely to gather anonymous crash logs, stability reports, and product feature telemetry. No resume text, contact details, or identifying career data is ever sent to Firebase or Amplitude.
- No Cross-App Tracking or Advertising: We do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not integrate advertising networks or advertising identifiers (IDFA).
3. App Store Privacy Nutrition Labels
In compliance with Apple's App Store Review Guidelines, here is how our data handling maps to Apple's App Privacy Nutrition Labels:
| Data Type | Collected? | Linked to You? | Used for Tracking? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal Career Info (Name, Work, Education) | No (Stored locally & in private iCloud) | No | No |
| Contact Details (Email, Phone, Address) | No | No | No |
| User Content (Photos, Notes) | No | No | No |
| Diagnostics (Crash Logs) | Yes (Firebase Crashlytics) | No (Anonymous) | No |
| Usage Data (Anonymous Feature Clicks) | Yes (Amplitude / Firebase) | No (Anonymous) | No |
4. Data Storage & Private CloudKit Synchronization
- Local Storage: All profile information, resume variants, layout customizations, and settings are saved on your device's secure local storage using native Apple storage frameworks (SwiftData).
- Apple CloudKit (Private Database): If you are signed into your Apple ID with iCloud enabled, SwiftData synchronizes your career profile and resumes across your personal devices via Apple's CloudKit private database. Your data is stored within your personal iCloud storage, encrypted by Apple. We cannot access, inspect, or decrypt your CloudKit data.
- Silent Push Notifications: The App requests permission for remote notifications solely to receive silent background signals from Apple Push Notification service (APS) when your CloudKit data changes on another of your personal devices, keeping your devices in sync.
5. PDF Generation & Document Sharing
- Local Rendering: All resume PDFs are rendered directly on your device using native Apple graphics frameworks (CoreText and PDFKit). No documents or text strings are sent to an external server to create your PDF.
- Sharing Resumes: When you export or share a resume, the action is handled entirely by the standard iOS system share sheet. Your resume is transferred only to the destination you explicitly choose (e.g., Apple Mail, Messages, Files, or AirDrop).
6. Third-Party Frameworks & System Services
The App utilizes standard, official Apple system frameworks and select diagnostic tools:
- SwiftUI & SwiftData: For user interface and local on-device persistence.
- CloudKit & Push Notifications: For private cross-device synchronization and change detection.
- PDFKit & PhotosUI: For document previewing, rendering, and photo selection.
- StoreKit: Used solely if you choose to submit an optional App Store rating.
- Firebase & Amplitude: Firebase (Crashlytics & Analytics) for crash reporting and app stability; Amplitude for product feature telemetry. Zero advertising or user-profiling SDKs are included.
7. Your Rights and Data Deletion
Because your data is stored exclusively on your device and your personal iCloud container, you maintain complete and total control over it at all times:
- Edit or Reset: You can edit or reset any career profile field or resume variation directly within the App.
- Delete Everything: You can permanently wipe all resumes and profile data at any time inside the App by going to Settings > Data Management > Delete All Data. This action deletes all records locally and purges them from your CloudKit container.
- Uninstalling the App: Deleting the CVBuilderKit application from your device immediately and permanently removes all local stored data from your device sandbox.
8. Children's Privacy
CVBuilderKit does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). Since no personal data is collected or transmitted to external servers, no data is stored or processed from children.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app's features or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted directly to this page with an updated revision date.
